Happy Birthday !

Liebe Hans,

I remember your 50th as if it were yesterday. We had a wonderful time - thoroughly enjoying your friends, family, and colleagues.

Unfortunately, I didn't have any pictures from that event. However, I do have this picture taken at your retirement party in 1999. You hated my tie. I remember those years we worked. You built a great team AND lead the company with a tremendous sense of integrity and ethics - character traits sorely lacking today in the business environment.

I included Rolf in the picture but did not get a waiver from him releasing me from all liability. However, since its on your birthday log, should he sue, you are "enjoined" in the litigation - something I know you enjoyed during our times together at Lonza. I will continue looking for other pictures and maybe even a video or two. I enjoyed our time together and look forward to seeing you sometime in the future when you are in the US or I am in CH.
